Small Groups are the heart of St. Edward's. Jesus prayed,
I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. (John 17:20b-23)
Jesus prayed that his disciples would experience the kind of fellowship that He enjoyed with God the Father. Our fellowship is to reveal the truth of Jesus' mission to the world. Too often churches are full of the type of conflict that mirrors the world instead of the harmony that reveals God. Our church is not perfect and we make no claim to be better than others. We do understand that the kind of community that Jesus wants for us cannot be built on Sunday mornings alone. Our small groups meet each week and are the places where we grow together and begin to look more like God than the world.
We have some groups that are just starting and a couple fo groups that have been meeting for over 25 years. All our groups are open to new members and we encourage people to feel free to try them out. Our groups are each a bit different and we encourage people to find one that feels like a good fit.
