I hope you join with us this Sunday Ed McNeill
Disaster in Burma
It is now estimated that 100,000 people have died in Myanmar (Burma). Aid agencies are struggling to provide assistance. Please be generous in this time of great need. There are many ways to donate. The simplist is to write a check to St. Edward's and write ERD Storm or ARD Storm. ERD is Episcopal Relief and Development and ARD is Anglican Relief and Development. ARD is a ministry of the Anglican Communion Network. Two ways to give. One great need.
St. Edward's @ The Movies Ok, so this outing is in disarray. Look for an email update on Tuesday, but pencil in Sunday Afternoon at the movies. You can watch the trailer here.
Steve Kritzer in Concert.
Steve Kritzer is playing at the Koinonia Coffee House this Friday Night. If you've not seen Steve in concert you are in for a treat. Check it out.
Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves Pentecost Video
Fr. Ed helped Bishop Mary make a video presenting the outcome of the visioning days she led earlier this year. The video sets out the vision for the diocese for the coming years. This is Bishop Mary's first major communication to the diocese. The video is set for public release on Sunday. A DVD of the video has been mailed to every parish. An online version will be placed on the diocesan homepage. But hey, we made the video so we put a test up on a secret page on our site..don't tell anyone!
Outreach News
By now you have noticed the Big Bin, ready and waiting on Sunday morning for the Mac-n-Cheese you are going to bring. Actually, other high protein packaged and canned foods are welcome, too. At the end of the month, all will be taken to Santa Maria Urban Ministries to help them to provide quality food to their clients. There is always a special need at the end of the school year. The children who benefit from the school lunch programs do not have that resource available during the summer break, so additional help for their families is always appreciated.
