Generally speaking, the best time to prepare for a funeral is right now unless you are in the midst of significant trauma. Advance preparation saves heartache, energy, and even money. We know this isn't easy at any time and it does take time and prayer. This information is meant both to be a brief checklist for families in the midst of making funeral arrangements and an encouragement to those who are planning ahead for themselves and their families. Further assistance and information for families is available from the clergy and staff of St. Edward's.
For those who are planning ahead for themselves and their families, two pamphlets are available at the church office: one listing choices about the funeral ceremony itself and one a larger checklist to help you get your affairs in order, whatever your situation, so that all the arrangements surrounding your entering the larger life with Jesus will be thoroughly and adequately taken care of. If you need help please call Priest-in-Charge, The Rev. Tom Sramek, Jr., at 408-377-0158 or email him at
